The owner who let it get to this state must be a real wankel.

If you like DS, you would like Ro80... I bought one a few months ago (with a mazda 13b swap) and it’s a GREAT car. Almost as confortable as the DS. Really impressive. It has a 170hp engine though, which makes it A LOT of fun...

I remember your write-up. I shall re-read.

The video will make you want one... You can feel how smooth the engine and the car are. Incredible. Really love the car!

well... this is what a barn-find looks like. And because it is a mildly interesting car, we can call it that.

You missed the story/saga of my barn-find Citroen DS break.

They are cheap and greato drive... You can get good ones for cheap, I recommend (in order to make that car some kind of project) to do the 13b swap. You won’t regret it... The power was just freaking perfect on the car... Perfect.

Yeah, a leap in horsepower will make all the difference. Is there a write-up on how to do the swap?

In order to keep the stock transmission (which makes the car as cool as it is) it requires an adapter for the gearbox. It will probably have to be custom made which would be THE one thing that would cost money... Custom made bell housing.
If you were to get one, I can put you in contact with the last owner of mine. He is very knowledgeable about Ro80 (owned 6 or 7) and could definitely help you out with anything you need. He lives near Carcassonne though...

I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I assume the 1,700 euro car needs seals, and the 5,000 euro cars are very drivable with the current setup. I also assume the guys at CT won’t be able to tell the difference with the Mazda engine installed, especially if the setup is as clean as what was in your video/photos.

I paid around 6500 euros for mine... But it was right hand drive (for export to Japan so perfect for me), with the 13B swap and in absolute perfect condition! Had to buy it and don’t regret it... It has a new owner who is VERY slow to finalize the importation in Japan lol.... Technically still mine today but well, it’s sold. :)

You should get one, not an extremely rusty one though, but a nicer one, to fill the DS shaped hole.

That’s 11 years old, now! Yikes!

Most of the parts and R0 80s have oxidized until now I suspect.

OK got it, read both. And yeah. I would imagine this NSU isn’t much worse for wear than that DS Break of yours, they just never cleaned it, looks like something that sat in a proper barn, under a leaking roof...
